The Dallas Stars' COVID-19 issues will force them to miss another game and cause a major reshuffling of the NHL schedule.

The Stars' games on Jan. 14, 15 and 17 are already postponed, and now their Jan. 19 game is, too. The defending Western Conference champions hope to be able to make their season debut on Jan. 22 against the Nashville Predators.

The NHL had announced on Jan. 8 that six Stars players and two staff members had tested positive for the coronavirus. On Jan. 12, the league put that number at 17, though it said most were asymptomatic and all were recovering without incident.

Because of the schedule changes, the end of the regular season is pushed back two days to May 10.

Jets cancel practice

The Winnipeg Jets announced Saturday that they had canceled practice for the day because of a possible exposure to COVID-19. They had no further details. The Jets next play Monday evening at the Toronto Maple Leafs.
