Andy Reid takes high road in Le'Veon Bell response: 'I'm pulling for him in the future'

Le'Veon Bell opened a can of worms on social media last week when he said he would never play for Andy Reid again. The Kansas City Chiefs head coach declined to return fire.

Speaking with reporters Thursday, Reid had nothing but nice things to say about the former Chiefs running back and wished him well for the future.

From ESPN:

"I really enjoyed my time with him here," Reid said Thursday as the Chiefs concluded their offseason practice. "I appreciated the way he handled things and did his business. He had some productive downs for us. But I'm pulling for him in the future. That's how I roll. People say things. They say stuff. I move on and wish him the best."

Bell has since apologized for publicly airing his grievances against Reid, though he said he stood by the statement and claimed Reid had said something that caused the rift in the first place.

Le'Veon Bell's Chiefs career didn't live up to expectations

Currently a free agent, Bell joined the Chiefs midway through last season after his release from the New York Jets. While he saw some part-time work during the regular season, eventually totaling 254 rushing yards in nine games, he saw only two touches in the entire playoffs.

Beyond that lack of work, details on Bell's and Reid's soured relationship are scarce.

Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu defended his coach, implying that Bell blamed Reid for his lack of success in Kansas City.

We'll see if that's the end of the matter, as Reid and Bell have both signaled they'd like to move on. Of course, Bell signing with a team on the Chiefs' schedule would present an intriguing matchup.
