Andrew Benintendi makes phenomenal flying catch, immediately becomes a meme
BOSTON — Red Sox left fielder Andrew Benintendi added to his postseason highlight reel in Game 2 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a flying catch going toward the Green Monster in left. It helped his team in a pivotal inning, as they took a 2-0 lead in the series and was worth at least 100 style points.
It was the top of the fifth inning and Brian Dozier was leading off for the Dodgers. He smashed one into left that might have been a hit off the Monster with another outfielder. But Benintendi made a great snag and made it look effortless.
The Internet being the Internet, Benintendi quickly turned into a meme:

This isn’t even Benintendi’s most impressive catch of the postseason thus far. That came in Game 4 of the ALCS when he made a diving, game-saving grab against the Houston Astros with two outs in the ninth inning.
Red Sox starter David Price would send the Dodgers down in order after the Benintendi catch. The Red Sox then scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning and took a 4-2 lead in the game.
