Analysis: Crystal Palace 1-3 Chelsea

BBC Sport's Gary Rose: "Conor Gallagher was Crystal Palace's Player of the Year when he was on loan at the Eagles back in 2021-22, but now he is the player who haunts them as he once again scored against his former side.

"The Chelsea forward got a 90th-minute winner against them at Selhurst Park last season and his two goals on Monday night sparked a turnaround to ultimate give the Blues all three points.

"The win, though, looked unlikely in a first half Chelsea didn't manage a shot on goal until just before half time but the visitors were a different side after the break, inspired by a tactical tweak for the second half.

"After successive losses in the Premier League Chelsea have now won their last two in all competitions and, while it is too early to say a corner has been turned, it is an important step in the right direction."
