Game notes: Each team is coming off a victory. MSU had a five-game winning streak snapped by a top-10 team (Baylor) in the Bahamas, then won Wednesday vs. a Louisville team that looks like it could challenge for an NCAA tournament spot. Three Spartans average more than nine points per game, led by Gabe Brown (13 points per game).

Toledo has won four in a row, with its only loss this season coming to Oakland. Ryan Rollings, a Macomb native averaging 20 points on 49% shooting over seven games, and JT Shumate, averaging 15.3 points (including 51.9% 3-point shooting on about four attempts per game), are the go-to scorers for the Rockets.

Toledo's next game is Tuesday at home vs. Bradley and MSU opens Big Ten play Wednesday at Minnesota.
