Confession time: I used to be the kind of shopper to snap up every trend I saw or read about. And that was a lot of fun...well, maybe for a season or two. When I started to realize that fast fashion is a losing proposition, though, I began investing in pieces with long-term potential—and that meant making over my wardrobe with chic basics I could wear all the time for years to come.
