Alshon Jeffery undoubtedly will have a lot of memories resurface when he takes the field this weekend for the Philadelphia Eagles’ opening round playoff game against the Chicago Bears.

He’s just simply not interested in them.

Jeffery — who has 843 yards and six touchdowns so far this season — got his NFL start in Chicago, and spent five seasons there. While he didn’t say much when asked about it on Wednesday afternoon, Jeffery did say Soldier Field stands out in his mind — just not in a good way.

“The field is terrible,” Jeffery said on Wednesday, via NJ.com. “I definitely remember that. But at the same time, it’s football, man … When I was there we always used to tell the equipment manager that you gotta change the field, get the field better.

“I’m not disrespecting them. I’m just saying: It’s terrible.”

Jeffery was drafted by the Bears in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft. Throughout his five years in Chicago, the 28-year-old caught 26 touchdowns, was selected to a Pro Bowl and had two seasons where he recorded more than 1,100 yards.

While Jeffery’s numbers were significantly better in Chicago, these past two seasons with the Eagles have been immensely better for him. He won a Super Bowl, after all.

“I love the city of Philadelphia,” Jeffery said, via NJ.com. “Chicago is just where I was for work.”

He made it clear later while texting with the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that he meant no disrespect with his comments, and was simply referring to the team struggles they went through — Jeffery underwent two coaching changes, front office changes and finished last in the NFC North in each of his final three seasons in Chicago.

Regardless, he’s over his time in the Windy City.

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Jeffery said, via NJ.com. “I play for the Eagles.”
