Alperen Sengun adds workouts with Kings, Magic ahead of NBA draft

Projected first-round pick Alperen Sengun recently worked out with the Sacramento Kings and will be visiting the Orlando Magic ahead of the NBA draft, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.

Sengun worked out with the Kings over the weekend and posted a photo to his Instagram story from Orlando on Tuesday. He will presumably work out with the Magic on Wednesday after Orlando hosted Jonathan Kuminga privately on Tuesday.

In addition to the Kings and Magic, Sengun has also worked out with the Charlotte Hornets and San Antonio Spurs with some others also on the schedule before the draft next week.

Sengun just finished up a strong run with Turkey in the Olympic qualifying tournament earlier this month from Victoria, British Columbia. He averaged 11.3 points, six rebounds and two assists in three games as Turkey lost to Greece in the semifinals on July 3.

The 6-foot-10 forward is projected to be a lottery pick this year in the NBA draft. He was named the 2020-21 Turkish BSL MVP after averaging 19.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 steals in 29 games with Besiktas last season.

He is widely considered one of the most versatile bigs in the draft this year with his ability to score in the paint and create for his teammates. His overall skill set was on full display during the qualifying tournament as he looks to carry that momentum into the pre-draft process.

The NBA draft will take place at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday, July 29.
