ALLYSON FELIX: I don't think it's really sunk in yet. But I am very grateful for just everyone who's come before me. Just so much respect and admiration. I know I wouldn't be here without those who paved the way. And just grateful for my own journey.

I love this sport and it's been so good to me. And I've grown up in it. And so yes, it's very, very special to be 35 and to still be doing what I love. I think more so is just doubts of getting back here. I mean I had-- obviously, I think we all now know all of the complications that I've faced over the past couple of years.

And I think all of my the physical complications, along with just the hardships, I think that's what gave me the most doubt of, you know, could I ever get back to myself? And so to me, tonight was really special. Because I do feel like myself again. And it's been a battle to get back to that.

Yeah, I think each Olympic games for me has been different. You know, obviously Athens, I was a teenager and didn't know what to expect and everything was new. And I think I just kind of evolved along the way. I'll say what's different about this one, that it was just much bigger.

I mean I've been saying this. It was just much bigger than running. You know, it was much-- it was much more than just know whatever the clock showed. It was the fight to get back. It was proving to myself that I could get back. It was getting over all of that adversity to get here.

It just seems like the last couple of years like things have just really come at me. So I feel like I've evolved as an athlete and as a person. And I've grown and this was just very special to have it all come here.
