Allegany boys open playoffs with convincing win

Feb. 28—CUMBERLAND — No. 2 Allegany opened the West Region I playoffs with a convincing 82-31 win over Clear Spring in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The Campers (19-4) held the Blazers to single digit scoring in three of the four quarters while scoring at least 20 in three of their four quarters.

Isaiah Fields led Allegany with 19 points, adding seven rebounds and four assists.

Zach Michael finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.

Dae Dae Smith scored 12 points with five rebounds, four assists and three steals while Dylan Shaffer added 11 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Dillon Albowicz led Clear Spring with 16.

First names were not provided for the Blazers.

The Campers led 28-8 after one quarter, 48-18 at halftime and 71-25 heading into the fourth.

Allegany hosts third-seeded Southern in the region semifinals on Thursday at 6 p.m.
