GIRARD — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash off Interstate 90 in Springfield Township on Tuesday morning that killed a 75-year-old Albion woman.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook identified the woman on Tuesday afternoon as Janet Batykefer. Cook said she was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday following the crash, which was reported on Tuesday at 6:40 a.m. on Route 215 at the Interstate 90 westbound offramp, according to state police in Girard.

Investigators said the driver of a 2006 Toyota Highlander was pulling from the stop sign on the I-90 westbound offramp to travel south on Route 215 and was struck by a 2009 Nissan Sentra, driven by Batykefer, that was traveling north on Route 215.

The driver of the Toyota was taken by a family member to the hospital for treatment of possible injury, troopers reported. A passenger in Batykefer's car was not taken to the hospital. Batykefer and her passenger were not wearing seatbelts, state police said. Police said the driver of the other vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.

Both lanes of Route 215 and the I-90 westbound off-ramp were closed for about four hours following the crash.
