Would any Alabama players have been on the cover of the missing EA Sports CFB games?

No matter the sport, it’s every athlete’s dream to end up on the cover of a video game. For the last 10 years, college football players and fans have been deprived of the beloved EA Sports NCAA game.

With the new name, image, likeness rules, the video game is making a comeback.  It was recently reported that players could opt in to having their names and likeness’ used in the game.

To make up for the decade without the gas, Patrick Conn of College Sports Wire decided to come up with a player to be on the cover of every season the game was gone. For 2021, he chose Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith.

“Smith was by far the biggest weapon during the pandemic-shortened season. In a year that we wondered if football would even happen, the Heisman and Biletnikoff winner stole the show. He tallied 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns on an offense that included John Metchie, Jaylen Waddle, and Najee Harris.”

The Heisman-winning wide receiver is certainly a solid choice, but there were also a few players that could have made the cut as well. For example Derrick Henry, Tua Tagovailoa and Bryce Young could have been some great options.
