Alabama HC Nate Oats optimistic for graduate senior Dom Welch’s return
Alabama graduate senior Dom Welch suffered a lower body injury in Friday’s matchup against Mississippi State. When speaking with the media, Alabama head coach Nate Oats seemed hopeful as to his return.
“Dom’s got a tailbone bruise. … Hopefully, he can get some treatment, rehab and be able to go because I like where his head’s at,” Oats said.
Welch has not had the impact that many had expected this season. He averages just two points per game. However, he has been very impactful off the bench over the recent stretch of games.
Welch is in his fifth season of playing college basketball. He brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the team. He is a “3-and-D” type of player for the Tide.
Against Mississippi State, Welch made a timely three. His presence will be a huge help to Alabama whether it comes over the weekend or ahead of the Tide’s NCAA Tournament appearance.
