AL MVP Shohei Ohtani earns cover honors for 'MLB The Show 22' video game
Coming off his historic 2021 season and his unanimous selection as the American League MVP, Shohei Ohtani has landed yet another honor.
The Los Angeles Angels pitcher/designated hitter will grace the cover of Sony's "MLB The Show 22," the makers of the popular video game franchise announced on Monday.
Ohtani hit 46 homers, with 100 RBI and 23 stolen bases last season, while also posting a 9-2 record and 3.18 ERA on the mound.
In addition, Ohtani, 27, became the first player ever named to an All-Star team as both a hitter and a pitcher. And he's the first Asian athlete to be featured on the cover of a video game in the four major North American sports.
