Yes, Al Michaels believes in miracles, and apparently, he also believes sexual harassment and abuse is something you can joke about.

Sunday night’s primetime matchup between the New York Giants and the Denver Broncos saw a regrettable moment of commentary from the longtime NBC broadcaster.

For some unknown reason, Michaels thought it was a good idea compare the Giants’ struggles to those of Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood movie producer facing numerous allegations of sexual misconduct spanning decades.

Listen for yourself:

Michaels later offered an on-air apology for his joke. Here is a transcript:

“Sorry I made a reference earlier before, I tried to be a little flip about somebody obviously very much in the news all over the country. It was not meant in that manner. So, my apologies. And we’ll just leave it at that.”

Michaels was appropriately called out for his inappropriate remark on social media.

Once again, for everyone who seems to forget: sexual misconduct is not, has not ever been, and will NEVER be funny.
