Aiken High School student installs benches at Generations Park

Jun. 6—People walking through Generations Park now have more opportunities to rest.

Aiken High School rising junior Preston Gillespie and city recreation department employees installed five park benches Friday afternoon. Making and installing the projects was Gillespie's Eagle Scout Service Project.

In order to become an Eagle Scout, a Boy Scout must complete a service project to benefit his community and demonstrate his leadership of others. Traditionally, younger scouts work to help the potential Eagle Scout complete the project.
