Aggies make final four for top cornerback prospect, Tony Mitchell

Texas A&M has officially made the final four school list for one of the top defensive prospects in the nation in the 2023 recruiting class, cornerback, Tony Mitchell. He recently made the announcement via Twitter, with his full list consisting of Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Georgia.

With his first official visit set for October 28th to visit Auburn, Mitchell has unofficially visited Texas A&M four times since last June, as the Aggies have trended up every month since then, finally showing that their efforts have paid off, and looking forward to making their final recruiting push going into the fall.

From my most recent recruiting profile evaluating the future star, I described his ability on the field:

Mitchell is a long, lean, and highly athletic cornerback who currently stands at 6-2, 180lbs with room to grow. From a coverage standpoint, Mitchell is a polished mover with great change of direction ability, aided by his smooth hips which help during his transitions, and his patience in coverage and great ball instincts while focusing on his man. He has the lateral quickness and vertical ability to cover any level on the field which may ultimately make him more of a safety prospect, depending on the program he chooses.

Tony Mitchell will ultimately make his decision based on how he envisions his football future transpiring, the coaching staff he trusts the most during his visits, and which college football environment will bring out the best in him for the next 3 to 4 years. But I will say this, he sure looks great in maroon and white!
