The New England Patriots have signed linebacker Jamie Collins, his agent announced on Twitter Wednesday. It was reported that the two sides were close to a deal on Tuesday. Now, the deal is done.

For Collins, this is his third stint with the organization. He last played for the Patriots in 2019. That season, he recorded 81 tackles and seven sacks in 15 starts. During his career, he has recorded 320 combined tackles and 17.5 sacks during his time with the Patriots. Now, he will look to help the organization as they continue to build depth at a strong linebacker position.

Collins recorded 10 tackles and a forced fumble with the Lions this season before being released on September 30. Last season was a productive one for Collins as he recorded 101 tackles.

Next up for New England is a visit to Houston by the Texans. Kickoff time is set for 1:00 PM.
