AFC East roundup: What happened in the division in Week 9
The Buffalo Bills continued their 2023 NFL season in Week 9 with a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football. It finished as a 24-18 defeat.
Like the Bills, the rest of the AFC East were in action, too. The Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots got after it on Sunday, meanwhile, the New York Jets had their matchup on Monday Night Football.
Following the weekend that was, how does the AFC East now look?
Here is a quick recap of everything that went down in the AFC East with the Dolphins, Jets, and Patriots and an updated look at the divisional standings:
Miami Dolphins
Similar to the Bills, the Dolphins’ usual high-flying offense didn’t like its usual self against the Kansas City Chiefs. A late comeback by Miami fell short in the matchup which was the first of two the NFL will hold in Germany.
Final score: 21-14 Chiefs.
New England Patriots
Despite the Washington Commanders trading away marquee pieces at the 2023 NFL trade deadline, their offense put on a show against the Patriots. Commanders quarterback Sam Howell took charge and threw for 325 yards and you would have thought it was the Pats that were team that traded away more pieces.
Final score: 20-17 Commanders.
New York Jets
Not much to say other than blowout. The Los Angeles Chargers looked a lot better than the Jets.
Final score: 27-6 Chargers.
