Adran Premier: Cardiff City thump Wrexham to extend lead at top

Cardiff City thumped Wrexham 6-1 to open up an eight-point lead at the top of the Adran Premier.

Eliza Collie bagged a hat-trick for the visitors at The Rock while a Molly Kehoe goal combined with a Rhianne Oakley brace completed the rout, with Rosie Hughes netting Wrexham's only goal.

Cardiff's victory comes as nearest challengers Swansea City saw their game with Aberystwyth Town postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Llandarcy.

Meanwhile, Barry Town United rose to the top of the Plate division courtesy of an emphatic 3-0 triumph against The New Saints.

Angharad Beman claimed a brace while India Shanahan also got on the scoresheet as Barry stretched their unbeaten league run to three matches.

Elsewhere, Lucy Attwood's late goal earned Pontypridd United a 2-2 draw with 10-player Cardiff Met.

Nieve Jenkins put Met ahead after just 12 minutes, although Shannon Hindmarsh equalised for Pontypridd after the half-hour mark.

Esme Kilburn-Thompson restored Cardiff Met's lead before they had Tiggeraa Webb sent off.

And Pontypridd earned a share of the spoils as Attwood netted an equaliser six minutes from time.
