Adidas to sign Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs to endorsement contracts

Adidas to sign Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs to endorsement contracts

Projected top-five picks Evan Mobley and Jalen Suggs will each reportedly sign multiyear endorsement contracts with Adidas, according to Nick DePaula of ESPN.

Mobley and Suggs join Jalen Green and Sharife Cooper as prospects to ink deals with Adidas ahead of the NBA draft. They join a talented roster, which features James Harden, Candace Parker, Damian Lillard, Chiney Ogwumike, Anthony Edwards and Liz Cambage among others.

They are projected to be the third and fourth picks, respectively.

Mobley was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year after averaging 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.9 blocks and 2.4 assists in 33 games. He believes he can eventually develop into a generational player in the NBA given his ability on both ends of the floor.

Suggs was named a consensus second-team All-American after averaging 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.9 steals in 30 games. He helped lead the Zags to the national title game after draining the game-winning shot over UCLA in the Final Four.

Prospects last season signed fewer endorsement contracts with brands due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, it appears as though companies are working fast to sign the top players this year with the marketplace turning around.

With the NBA draft approaching, apparel companies have been working hard to finalize agreements with prospects. In addition to the quartet of players signing with Adidas, Cade Cunningham and Jonathan Kuminga each agreed to deals this week with Nike.

The NBA draft is scheduled to begin Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
