Adam Thielen's 100-yard streak ends one game short of record
Adam Thielen has been one of the season’s revelations, leading the league in receiving yards and stacking up an astonishing eight straight 100-yard receiving games. But all good things must end, and Thielen’s streak of 100-yard games in a single season ended at a record-tying eight.
In Sunday’s Minnesota victory over the Detroit Lions, Thielen was targeted seven times and caught four passes for 22 yards. He did have one touchdown, but he didn’t have that one breakaway gain that would have helped him get anywhere close to triple digits.
Thielen’s streak thus ends with him tied with Calvin Johnson at eight, according to NFL Research. Five other players, including Demaryius Thomas and Michael Irvin, ran up a seven-game streak.
