The Blackhawks' pipeline is filling up in a hurry, and fans will get their first look at the next wave of prospects at development camp from July 16-20, which will feature all three of their first-round draft picks from the last two years.
No. 8 overall pick in 2018 Adam Boqvist and recent No. 3 overall pick Kirby Dach headline the group of 36 players, highlighted by 25 team selections, including all six from 2019. Other notable prospects attending: Draft picks Nicolas Beaudin, Philipp Kurashev, Ian Mitchell and Alex Vlasic.
Seven of the 36 players are not under contract with the Blackhawks and are attending on a potential tryout basis: Forwards Dylan McLaughlin, Kyle Olson and Jonny Sorenson and goaltenders Devin Cooley, Stefanos Lekkas, Mareks Mitens and Zackarias Skog.
Dominic Basse, who was taken in the sixth round (No. 167 overall) in June, and Alexis Gravel, who was also selected in the sixth round (No. 162 overall) in 2018, are the only two goaltenders under contract with the Blackhawks participating.
Three prospects will be attending but are scheduled to conduct off-ice workouts only: Forwards Evan Barratt, who reportedly underwent surgery earlier in the offseason, Dominik Kubalik and Niklas Nordgren, who also missed time this past season with an injury.
Practices will run from 1-5 p.m. from Monday-Thursday at Fifth Third Arena, with a scrimmage wrapping up camp on Friday that will begin at 9:30 a.m.
