Ada pair highlight load of local All-Region 6 players

Oct. 28—When the 2023 All-Region 6 postseason softball awards were released, the list read like an Ada News All-Star team.

A total of 11 local players were honored by Region 6 coaches.

Leading the way was the Ada pair of Abbey Strong and Rylynn Truett. Strong was named one of two Corner Infielders of the Year while Truett was listed as the No. 2 All-Region catcher. Both Lady Cougars have committed to play college softball at East Central University.

Tecumseh's Serenity Jacoway was named the Region 6 Pitcher of the Year and Avery Beauchamp of Silo was named the Catcher of the Year.

Hannah Earlywine of North Rock Creek was the other Corner Infielder while Silo's Makayla Clark and Atoka's Kyleigh Ritchie were the region's selections for Middle Infielders.

The All-Region 6 outfield consisted of BrooklynDuff of Bethel, Trista Barrett of Tishomingo and Lydia VanAntwerp of North Rock Creek.

Haley Hacker of North Rock Creek was the No. 2 Pitcher.

The All-Region 6 team listed three Utility players: Raynee Bass of North Rock Creek and the duo of Julian Kindle and Dani Banks of McLoud.

Silo's Mike Lawless was named the Region 6 Coach of the Year.

Two Latta standouts were Region 6 picks. Jaycie Prine got the nod as a catcher and Laraby Jennings was tabbed as an outfielder.

The Tupelo Lady Tigers had three All-Region players — pitcher Ava Sliger, Corner Infielder Maci Gaylor and Utility Player Jaycee Stringer.

Roff's Shelby Ensey was an All-Region utility player, Coalgate's Raeleigh Madden was an All-Region catcher, Ava Laden of Allen was an All-Region outfielder and Payton Leba of Asher was an All-Region corner infielder.
