It's a brand new course this week for the inaugural Palmetto Championship, and we've got you covered as fans (and many players) get their first look at Congaree.

The newly-built private club hosts the world's best for the first time, a replacement event created in the wake of the cancellation of the RBC Canadian Open earlier this year. It'll be a demanding test for the field, tipping out at more than 7,600 yards with no rough in sight but plenty of sand and water lurking. Josh Culp offers a thorough course preview of this week's venue, located near Savannah and Hilton Head and boasting a style of play that resembles golf on the Australian Sand Belt.

World No. 1 and South Carolina native Dustin Johnson headlines the field, and he's the betting favorite with four-time major champ Brooks Koepka in close pursuit. But Will Gray expects some players further down the odds board to contend for the Palmetto title, highlighted by Patton Kizzire who enters off a pair of recent top-3 finishes. Patrick McDonald shares his thoughts on who could be leading after the opening round, as well as some selections among the head-to-head matchups at Congaree.

We've also got things covered for DFS players, with previews styled for each of the major golf DFS platforms: DraftKings, FanDuel and Yahoo. Johnson and Koepka are going head-to-head this week in a marquee Golf Pick 'Em matchup in the NBC Sports Predictor app, a free-to-play game offering a $50,000 weekly jackpot. Check out the breakdown and analysis for that and the other nine matchups this week.

We'll also offer video analysis, both for the betting and DFS crowd, plus Gray will make a weekly appearance on the "Bet the Edge" podcast to discuss his Palmetto plays. Once the tournament begins, McDonald will offer in-play and matchup bets after each of the first three rounds, while Gray will provide on-site analysis and commentary this weekend from Congaree.

The U.S. Open is only one week away, but before the spotlight shifts to Torrey there's plenty to keep an eye on this week in the Low Country.
