Aaron Rodgers voices support for bringing Clay Matthews back to Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers' grievances with the Green Bay Packers have been well-documented this offseason. Chief among them: His feeling that he did not have a voice in the team's decision-making process, despite his status as a three-time NFL MVP.

One thing the Packers did do this offseason as they attempt to mend their relationship with Rodgers is bring in one of his favorite targets: Randall Cobb.

Now, Rodgers, Cobb and all-pro left tackle David Bakhtiari appear to be lobbying for the return of another recent Packers great: linebacker Clay Matthews III.

Cobb posted a photo of Matthews during his Packers days to his Instagram story with the comment "Sup?" Rodgers then shared the post to his own Instagram story and did not hide his feelings, captioning the post with "BRING HIM BACK."

Bakhtiari also shared Cobb's post to his own Instagram story.

Matthews responded to his former teammates' posts in his own Instagram story late Friday night.

Rodgers and Matthews played together for 10 seasons from 2009, when Matthews was drafted by the Packers in the first round, through 2018. Matthews rang up 83.5 sacks with the Packers and earned six Pro Bowl nods. He was named an all-pro in 2010, when the Packers won the franchise's fourth Super Bowl title.

He spent the 2019 season with the Los Angeles Rams, recording eight sacks in 13 games, but he did not play anywhere in 2020.
