Yankees slugger Aaron Judge took home some hardware on Friday night, as he was named the 2022 Players Choice Player of the Year and AL Outstanding Player of the Year.

“I want to say thank you to all of my teammates and opposing players that voted for me,” Judge said in a video tweeted out by the MLBPA. “There’s no higher honor than this type of award, your peers voting for you.”

Judge, of course, had a 2022 season worthy of any and all awards that come his way. Judge set a Yankees and American League record by belting 62 home runs to go along with 131 RBI and a .311/.425/.686 slash line. An All-Star for the fourth time, Judge helped lead the Yankees into the playoff once again.

Now, the question is whether or not Judge will also take home the AL MVP Award, which he is the presumed favorite for ahead of Angels star Shohei Ohtani.

Judge is also about to hit the free agency market, and he would instantly become the biggest name available.
