Aaron Donald ties NFL record with 8th career All-Pro selection

Aaron Donald has as strong a resume for the Pro Football Hall of Fame as anyone in the NFL, and it got even better on Friday. The Associated Press announced its All-Pro teams for the 2023 season and Donald was once again a first-team selection.

It’s the eighth time Donald has been voted a first-team All-Pro, tying the record for the most ever by a defensive player. He tied Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White and Bruce Smith as the only defensive players to be first-team All-Pros eight times.

In 16 games this season (he sat out Week 18 for rest), Donald had eight sacks, 23 quarterback hits and 16 tackles for a loss. He finished with 53 total tackles, as well.

The other interior defensive lineman to be voted a first-team All-Pro this year was Chris Jones of the Chiefs.

No other Rams players made the first-team, but Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua were second-team selections – each their first time being voted All-Pros at any level.
