Steph Curry was obviously watching the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl win back in February because he drew some inspiration from Aaron Donald on Thursday night. With about 6 minutes left in the third quarter of Game 6, Curry drilled a long 3-pointer to give the Warriors a 22-point lead over the Celtics.

He then pointed to his finger, asking for his ring – which would be his fourth. Everyone on Twitter immediately compared the celebration to Aaron Donald’s “ring me” gesture at the end of Super Bowl LVI, and Curry admitted that’s where he got it from.

“Shoutout to Aaron Donald for giving me some inspiration for that celebration because I felt it in the moment. It might’ve been a little early, but I felt it.”

Here’s a look at the celebration, which would’ve become the wrong type of meme had the Warriors blown their big lead – which they nearly did after the Celtics cut it to single-digits.

Yeah, it looked familiar.

Curry was named NBA Finals MVP for the first time in his career after averaging 31 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists per game across the six contests.

And like Aaron Donald, he’ll go down as one of the all-time greats when his career is over.
