AAF linebacker Ryan Davis stretchered off field after suffering apparent neck injury

Ryan Davis of the Alliance of American Football’s Orlando Apollos left the field on a stretcher Sunday after a collision with a teammate Earl Okine.

Davis collided with Okine while blitzing San Antonio Commanders quarterback Logan Woodside in the second quarter. Davis’ head snapped back during the collision before he fell to the ground.

Davis’ teammates huddled after injury

Medical staff attended Davis on the field, and Apollos players huddled on the field in solidarity.

Davis gave thumbs-up on stretcher

Apollos team reporter Tom Alexander reported that Davis gave a thumbs-up as he was stretchered off the field. Alexander also noted that Okine “looked wobbly” as he walked off the field.

The team did not provide an update to Davis’ status other than to note that he suffered an “apparent neck injury.”
