There's a new crop of skin-care treatments in town, and they come slimy (and slightly scary) in texture (and vaguely resemble the green goo formally known as
Flubber). But don't be alarmed — these jelly-like masks do more good than harm, offering ultra-hydrating and exfoliating benefits for your skin — especially in the dead of winter. Here, the best nine to slather on, stat — are you ready for this jelly? This story originally appeared on Allure. K-Beauty retailer Glow Recipe dropped its own in-house skin-care line, aptly named Glow Recipe, and no surprise to anyone, it was a smash success. Its hero product, this jelly-like overnight mask sold out in minutes, and has been hard to get ahold of ever since. We blame its sweet-like-candy scent and the glowing effect it gives skin after a solid eight (OK, fine, seven) hours of sleep.
At first touch, this honey-based mask feels like sticky tack, but after a few minutes the gooey formula melts down into a rich, thick cream. It's also made with royal jelly (the creamy secretion produced by worker bees) to hydrate and nourish winter-worn skin. Bottom line? It's Queen Bee-approved.
Jam-packed with exfoliating AHAs, this tingles-on-contact mask gently sloughs off dead skin cells to help bring out your skin's inner glow. Oh, and it smells damn good, too.
Looks like the
superfood skin-care trend isn't going anywhere, anytime soon — especially if First Aid Beauty has anything to say about it. The brand's new jelly mask is packed with good-for-your-skin ingredients, like ginger and turmeric, to nourish skin, while vitamin C brightens.
"Swishy jelly goodness," is how one
Allure editor described Lush's take on the trendy treatment — and she's not wrong. The soothing formula is packed with skin-nourishing ingredients, such as anti-inflammatory green tea and exfoliating witch hazel, both of which calm down redness brought on my frigid temps.
In just three minutes (180 seconds, if we're getting technical), you can respond to an email (ugh), scroll through your Insta feed (again), or you can get glowy skin with Dior's scrub-peel hybrid. The "jelly" mask is made with exfoliating alpha hydroxy acids in the form of fruit extracts (orange, lemon, and blueberry) and a gritty physical scrub (apricot-kernel particles) to slough away dead skin cells and give skin that coveted lit-from-with glow. Again, all in less than three minutes.
This cools-on-contact formula is probably the most gentle of the bunch, thanks to soothing aloe vera and hydrating calendula. Together, the two powerhouse ingredients make for one seriously moisturizing mask.
Just as its name suggests, this hydrating K-Beauty mask — made with nourishing truffle, blackberry, and black pearl — comes in a deep midnight hue that may (or may not) stain your silk pillowcase if you're not careful. Avoid the added mess by slathering on the overnight treatment at least 30 minutes before hitting the sack.
Each of the six sachets come pre-loaded with a handful of skin-soothing vitamins (E, C, and A) to hydrate, boost the skin's lipid barrier, and help prevent fine lines. Um, we'll take all six, please.
