76ers pick up options on McConnell, Holmes

The Philadelphia 76ers picked up the fourth-year contract options for guard T.J. McConnell and forward Richaun Holmes, guaranteeing both will be under contract through the 2018-19 season.

McConnell was an undrafted free agent who signed with the 76ers in September 2015, following a four-year collegiate career at Duquesne and Arizona.

Since his NBA debut, McConnell has had a league-leading 203 steals and 697 assists off the bench, which trails only Dallas Mavericks backup point guard J.J. Barea.

Holmes was drafted 37th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. In his three NBA seasons with the 76ers, he appeared in 156 games (20 starts) and averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 16.9 minutes per game.
