$75K grant will fund access road off Route 42 to Ashland County Airport

Ashland County Board of Commissioners

Thursday, Aug. 18 meeting

KEY ACTION Approved a $75,375 grant agreement between the Ashland County Airport Authority and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for airport access road construction.

DISCUSSION Commissioners James Justice and Denny Bittle voted in favor of the agreement. Commissioner Mike Welch was absent.

“This access road will come strictly off (Route) 42,” said Bittle. “You will be able to get off 42 and go straight to the airport. It will make it much more accessible for people. It will be much more visible as a way to get to the county airport.”

Under the county's agreement with the Airport Authority and the FAA, there is no cost to the county.

There is no set timetable for construction to begin.
