6 players the Bills should let walk in free agency this offseason

The Buffalo Bills will not re-sign all of their pending free agents this offseason for a variety of reasons.

It’s true, the team could want to upgrade. In other cases, whether it be because of the money or roster size, it doesn’t make much sense for the Bills to do so.

Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane and his front office team will be in charge of making those decisions, but we have some ideas for him.

Here are six free agents the Bills should let walk this offseason:

Age: 24

Davis has had his moments for the Bills, including his record-setting postseason performance, but not many of the dots connect. Buffalo should want a player that will produce more as a starter and Davis already posted a semi-goodbye message on social media anyway… might seem a bit odd if he comes back now, but you never know.

Age: 34

Murray had a few moments on the field, but his age doesn’t really justify him coming back in that role anyway. If you’re looking for vets, the Bills should have plenty of players that can provide leadership, too.

QB Kyle Allen

Age: 27

Truthfully, this just comes down to Mitchell Trubisky. The Pittsburgh Steelers have released him and the former-Bills backup should return to that role because his play style is much more similar to Josh Allen’s than Kyle Allen’s is. It makes a lot of sense.

Age: 33

It’s a painful one to write, but neck injuries have added up for Hyde and it makes a lot more sense to bring in a younger replacement while a veteran like Jordan Poyer (and potentially Taylor Rapp) are still around.

Floyd led the Bills with 10.5 sacks in 2023. But he said he’s not going to take any sort of discount to remain in Buffalo and someone is always ready to pay free agent pass rushers.
