54-Year-Old Mike Tyson Looks Absolutely Jacked in New Photo

From Men's Health

He may have retired in 2005, boasting a 50-6 record, but from looking at his recent social media posts, you’d be forgiven for thinking that 'Iron Mike' Tyson ever went away. The guy’s in seriously impressive shape, which is even more impressive when you remember that he's 54-years-old.

Boxing history is littered with comebacks, but there’s not many as wildly anticipated as this one. Will he be the same Iron Mike from yesteryear? Probably not. Will he still be able to land vicious blows and ferocious left hooks? It certainly looks like it.

Taking to Instagram, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ shared previews of what to expect come November 28, revealing a transformation which has seen him shed almost 60kg. The former World Heavyweight Champion credits his massive drop in weight to diet changes and hard training with MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro.

However, it would appear that’s there more to this lifestyle change than another shot at glory. Speaking to digital radio station SiriusXM, Tyson is also doing this for his health, acknowledging the significant dangers around obesity: “I didn’t want to die that way… I just didn’t want to live my life like that. I didn’t want to restrict my life.

“You are what you eat. I don’t eat bread, I don’t eat nothing like carbs, like potatoes. I don’t eat nothing that puts on weight, nothing that has a calorie.”

Sounds extreme but Tyson has never done things by halves. Whether this dramatic weight loss will hinder his fitness or athletic ability, only time will tell. Either way, it’s a fight we’ll be watching.
