5 potential breakout players for the Bills in 2023
Here are five potential breakout players for the Buffalo Bills in 2023:
OL Connor McGovern
Second-round rookie O’Cyrus Torrence will have many eyes on him in 2023. But McGovern is a new addition, too.
Along with having NFL experience already, McGovern could hit the ground running in his first year with the Bills because of where he’s playing. At left guard, he’s between Mitch Morse and Dion Dawkins, two of Buffalo’s best. Meanwhile, Torrence will be next to Spencer Brown, the line’s biggest question mark.
TE Dalton Kincaid
The first-round rookie draft pick should have high expectations. That’s the case for Dalton Kincaid and for good reason.
In his own right, he’s talented. But the Bills offense is well suited for him to thrive immediately as a slot receiver.
RB James Cook
Cook is the easiest one to tab as a breakout candidate. After playing a bit role as a rookie, Cook is slated as Buffalo’s starting running back for the first time.
CB Christian Benford
Benford won the three-way battle with Kaiir Elam and Dane Jackson to start across from Tre’Davious White on the Bills defense. Jackson will be the one right on his heels if Benford slips up, but Benford is heading into the regular season hot. If he can start strong, he could put together a strong year.
DE Greg Rousseau
The sooner the Bills get Von Miller back on the field, the better. Miller has started the season on the PUP list.
Buffalo adding Leonard Floyd as an insurance option in case that happened could be big for Rousseau. If Floyd is a real threat on the other side of the defensive line, that could give Rousseau more room to work.
