The Denver Broncos appear poised to select a linebacker in the NFL draft this year, but Georgia’s Nakobe Dean and Utah’s Devin Lloyd (and even Dean’s teammate, Quay Walker) seem poised to go off the board well before the Broncos make their first pick at the bottom of the second round.

Despite those top three linebackers likely being unavailable, Denver should be able to add a quality LB on Day 2 of the draft — if they choose to. Here’s a quick look at five names to know as the draft approaches.

1. Christian Harris, Alabama

Harris totaled 80 tackles (11.5 for losses) and 5.5 sacks in 15 games last year.

Andersen is a tackling machine, recording 147 tackles (14 behind the line), two sacks and two interceptions in 15 games last season.

3. Chad Muma, Wyoming

Muma’s a fan-favorite in Denver because he grew up in Colorado and played college football in neighboring Wyoming. Muma totaled 142 tackles (eight for losses), three interceptions and 1.5 sacks in 13 games last year.

4. Channing Tindall, Georgia

The Bulldogs sure know how to produce linebackers! Tindall recorded 67 tackles (7.5 behind the line) and 5.5 sacks in 15 games last season.

5. Brandon Smith, Penn State

Smith totaled 62 tackles (2.5 for losses) in 13 games last season. He might be more of a Day 3 target.

The Broncos have a second-round pick and a pair of third-round picks to use in the draft this weekend. View the team’s full order of picks here.
