The best mattress deals to buy from 4th of July sale events
The deal: Save up to 20% on all products sitewide through Monday, July 5.
It’s hard to beat Tuft & Needle in our eyes—it's our favorite mattress-in-a-box—and now, you can find out why thanks to the site’s 4th of July sale. Until July 5, not only can you get the Tuft & Needle Original mattress we love so much from $405 (that’s nearly $50 off the normal starting price of $450), you can get 10% off bedding products, too. That includes everything from a top-rated quilt (once from $175, now from $157.50) to an adjustable bed frame (originally starting at $995, now from $895.50).
When we tested the Original, it was incredibly comfortable. Despite its firm build, our sleep staff writer, Lindsey Vickers, found it to have an impressive balance between support and surface give, noting it would work well for all sleeping positions. Made with two layers of foam sandwiched between a soft upper that’s infused with cooling gel and a thick, supportive base layer, it did retain a little bit of heat, but if you ask us, it was worth it for the superb support it offered our pressure points.
The deal: Get $399 worth of accessories free with every mattress purchase for a limited time.
Though we’re still days away from the Fourth of July, Nectar is letting shoppers get a jump on the savings with its 4th of July pre-sale. Thanks to this promotion, you'll get one to two free cooling pillows ($75 to $150), a sheet set ($125 to $150) and a mattress protector ($99) when you purchase the company's mattress, which starts as low as $499. As one of our favorite mattresses-in-a-box, Nectar is great at dissipating heat. Its three layers of foam (a 1-inch top tier of gel memory foam, a 3-inch memory foam layer and a high-density base foam layer for support) and a super-soft feel that's perfect for those who prefer a cushy surface.
The deal: Take $300 off mattresses and receive up to $499 in free bedding accessories through Sunday, July 4.
Imagine buying something that’ll not only help you sleep more soundly, it will help the environment, too. No, it’s not a hemp mattress, but the Awara organic luxury hybrid, which you can get from as low as $999 (normally $1,299) through July 4. Better yet, Awara promises to plant 10 trees for every purchase. In addition to the $300 price cut you'll receive on it in every size, there's a free accessory bundle that includes a mattress protector ($149), a set of cotton sheets ($175) and one to two cooling latex pillows ($95 to $175) with every purchase.
When we tested this bed, which has three different latex certifications, we found that its natural materials offered great bounce edge support, making it most like a traditional mattress of the bunch. It didn't retain much heat and also passed our motion test with flying colors, making it a solid choice for light sleepers. However, we didn’t think it was soft enough for those with easily-agitated pressure points, so that's something to keep in mind.
The deal: $300 off mattresses and two free pillows with every purchase.
If softness is your bread and butter when it comes to mattresses, Puffy is a great place to shop. With its 4th of July sale underway, the company is offering its standard mattress from $599 (usually from $899) or its Lux hybrid mattress from $1,149 (normally from $1,449). Regardless of which one you choose, you'll get two standard pillows valued at $158, free of charge.
We found the surface of the super-soft Puffy Lux to be responsive with a nice amount of immediate give. The mattress perfectly cradled our tester, who is a hybrid side- and stomach-sleeper, without making her feel like she was sinking too deeply. However, those who need substantial back support to get proper shuteye might find its extreme cushiness to be a dealbreaker.
The deal: Get $200 off your mattress purchases of $975 or more through tomorrow, June 30.
Mattress shopping is an expensive endeavor to take on, so it certainly helps to get any kind of relief at checkout. Thanks to Saatva's early access 4th of July sale, shoppers can save $200 on every model, including the Classic mattress we tried out in the luxury-firm comfort level, which normally starts at $1,049 for a twin XL and is marked down as low as $849. With a 14.5-inch thickness, this pick left our tester feeling comfortable overall, but she didn’t think it held up against the competition in terms of absorbing movement. Still, if you sleep alone or are impervious to the fidgets of partners or pets, the Classic—or one of the brand's other beds, which are also on sale—could be a good option for your sleep schedule.
The deal: Green, latex and vegan hybrid hattresses are $100 off with coupon code SLEEPFREE, the Avocado organic luxury plush mattress is save $250 off with coupon code LIBERTY, cotton sheets and duvet covers are $50 off with coupon code USOFAVO and select bed frames are $300 off through Monday, July 5.
Getting a mattress is one thing, but you'll still need a few other things to complete your bedroom. Fortunately, Avocado’s 4th of July sale is offering everything you could ever need at a discount through July 5. Using the promo code SLEEPFREE, you can get $100 off the brand’s green and vegan mattresses (both now from $899 with the code) along with its latex and vegan latex mattresses (both from $1,399 with code). Shoppers can use the code LIBERTY, meanwhile, to get $250 off Avocado’s organic luxury plush mattress (from $2,149 with code) or coupon code USOFAVO for $50 off the brand’s cotton sheets (from $30 with code), deep pocket sheets (from $149 with code) and duvet cover (from $89 with code).
The Avocado green is one of our favorite mattresses-in-a-box for its ability to retain little-to-no heat overnight and for its super responsive nature. The latter element is courtesy of the bed’s 1,400 steel coils, all of which are sandwiched between two thick layers of organic latex, providing it with a superior spring. Stomach sleepers should be cautious, however, as we had trouble feeling the full lumbar support of the mattress.
The deal: At Purple, you'll get up to $150 off mattresses and up to $200 off an accompanying accessory bundle, 10% off solo accessory bundles, and $50 off a Purple bed frame with your mattress purchase.
With its eye-catching tag and famous ads, the Purple label is one that's hard to ignore. To see if it offered more than a unique presentation and a whole lot of hype, we gave the company's standard Purple mattress (once from $599 now from $574) a shot. While it didn't top our favorite mattress-in-a-box list, we had to admit that it was incredibly comfortable thanks to its gel-like material. It also stayed cool despite our best efforts to heat it up. The bed mitigated movement impressively well, and was exceptional at cradling bodies, while still offering plenty of support. Right now, you can pick one up at a discount ranging from $25 off the kids' size (now from $474) to $150 off its Hybrid Premier mattress (once from $2,099 and now from $1,949). You can also add a premium sleep bundle of two pillows, a mattress protector and a set of sheets to your cart for $316 (was $516).
The deal: Leesa's early 4th of July sale boasts up to $500 off on mattresses with two free pillows through June 29.
It's hard to top Leesa mattresses. Until tomorrow, June 29, the brand is offering early access to its July 4th sale with up top $500 off its mattresses. That means you could get the Leesa Original for as low as $699 (was from $799), the Leesa Hybrid—our best upgrade pick as far as mattress-in-a-box go—from $949 (was from $1,099) or the Leesa Legend from $1,549 (was from $1,799). All three will come with two down alternative pillows ($158) completely free of charge. The fusion design of the Hybrid, which marries memory foam with pocket springs, provided plenty of softness, body contouring and sturdiness, too, which we found suitable regardless of preferred sleeping positions.
The deal: Use promo code AS30 to get $250 off mattresses and up to $239 in free gifts.
What better way to be patriotic on the Fourth of July than by getting a mattress with three-quarters of the word “America” on the tag? Amerisleep is currently hosting its Early 4th of July sale, with three mattresses available at glorious discounts. Using the promo code AS30, shoppers can get the AS2 mattress for as low as $734 (normally from $1,049), the AS3 from $804 (originally $1,149) or the AS5 from $1,294 (typically from $1,849). Buyers can also get a $200 "comfort bundle," which features two cooling pillows and a mattress protector, free with every bed purchase.
We gave the AS3 a test run, and while it did take a few nights to adjust to its firmness, our tester appreciated its sturdy core that made her feel like she was being “cradled, not coddled.” As an added bonus, its firm build made it extremely easy to make the bed with.
10. Brooklyn Bedding
The deal: Get 25% off site-wide with promo code INDEPENDENCE25 through Tuesday, July 6.
The upstart bedding brand is celebrating the patriotic holiday with its own Independence Day Sale. From now until July 6, you can use the promo code INDEPENDENCE25 to get 25% off on both mattresses and accessories For instance, you can get one of our favorite mattresses in a box, the Brooklyn Signature Hybrid, for as low as $449.25—that’s nearly $150 off its starting list price of $599. We found it to be a decent mattress for the price—its sides were far more supportive than others we’ve tested, though the foot caved in quite a bit. We felt that side-sleepers would get the most out of the medium-firm option we tried, though back or stomach-sleepers may have better luck with the firm version.
