49ers' Givens reportedly facing second-degree assault charge originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

49ers defensive lineman Kevin Givens is facing criminal charges after allegedly beating a man up at a Maryland hotel in February, TMZ reported Friday.

According to TMZ, Givens has been charged with misdemeanor second-degree assault after dislocating a man's shoulder during an altercation.

Givens had been spending time with the victim earlier that evening when Givens became angry with him and attacked him, per court documents obtained by TMZ.

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, the victim, Hayden Bosley, was hanging out with Givens, Givens' girlfriend and another friend, and asked Givens if he wanted to come with them in the Uber/Lyft they were ordering. Givens became angry and told Bosley to go away, which he did. Bosley claims Givens showed up at the hotel shortly after, saw him and attacked him, dislocating his shoulder and giving Bosley a black eye.

Givens is due in court in April and could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

The 49ers signed Givens as an undrafted rookie out of Penn State in 2019. He was a key contributor last season on a 49ers defensive line that was hampered by injuries, playing 37 percent of snaps.
