The 49ers on Friday ruled out nine players for their season finale on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

The list includes second-year linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who suffered a calf injury during practice Thursday. An MRI revealed Greenlaw sustained a calf strain that will keep him out of Sunday's game at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Azeez Al-Shaair is expected to step into the starting lineup alongside Fred Warner. Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, Mark Nzeocha and Joe Walker are the other linebackers on the 49ers' roster.

The team ruled out starting wide receivers Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and Brandon Aiyuk (ankle), defensive linemen Javon Kinlaw (knee) and Kevin Givens (personal reasons), and defensive backs Richard Sherman (calf) and K'Waun Williams (shin).

The 49ers placed left tackle Trent Williams (elbow) and defensive end Jordan Willis (ankle) on injured reserve.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said he would like to suit up three quarterbacks for the game. C.J. Beathard will make his second consecutive start after injuries sidelined Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) and Nick Mullens (elbow).

Veteran quarterback Josh Johnson, who signed with the 49ers' practice squad in November, was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list this week. Shanahan said he will have to know the health of other positions on the roster before he can commit to elevating Johnson from the practice squad for the game.

The 49ers last week signed Josh Rosen off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad. Rosen served as the backup last week. He did not play.

The 49ers have four players on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and none are expected to be cleared in time to play in Sunday's game. The list includes kicker Robbie Gould, long-snapper Taybor Pepper, receiver Trent Taylor and backup center Hroniss Grasu.

The 49ers on Friday officially signed kicker Tristan Vizcaino to the practice squad. Vizcaino will be elevated from the practice squad on Saturday to be eligible to make his NFL debut against the Seahawks.

Newly signed Colin Holba will handle the long-snapping chores.
