4 stats to know about new Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown

The Eagles acquired wide receiver, A.J. Brown, from the Titans on Thursday and night and expectations are quickly rising for Nick Sirianni’s offense.

Rather than risk another first-round pick on an unproven college star, GM Howie Roseman traded a first and fourth-round pick to the Titans for the disgruntled Brown, who was seeking a new contract.

Philadelphia promptly gave Brown a new four-year, $100 million deal and the numbers were on par with some of the top pass catchers in football today.

Philadelphia badly needed an accomplished guy on the outside, and Brown is exactly that after posting 1,051 yards and 1,075 yards receiving in his first two seasons. During an injury-plagued 2021 season that saw him miss four games, Brown finished slightly behind DeVonta Smith with 869 yards receiving.

He’s not a burner on the outside, but he’s surely productive, with only two players who have averaged more yards per target than A.J. Brown since the former Ole Miss star entered the NFL in 2019 (min. 150 targets).
