Cornerback

The Cardinals have Malcolm Butler and Byron Murphy they are counting on. For the third spot, they are currently relying on Robert Alford, who has missed each of the last two seasons with injuries, and a pair of Day 3 draft picks in Marco Wilson and Tay Gowan. Another veteran with starting experience would be more than welcome because, if Alford happens to get hurt again, there is no experience on the bench.

Tight end

The Cardinals currently have only Maxx Williams and Darrell Daniels with playing experience. Behind them are Ian Bunting, Austrian Bernhard Seikovits, who was allocated to the Cardinals through the International Pathways Program, and some undrafted rookies. Williams was hurt all last season and played in only nine games. Daniels also missed time with injuries and is mostly just a guy on the roster. Unless the Cardinals are going to go all-in on an offense with four receivers on the field, they need a little experience and durability at the position.

The current makeup of the roster is fine. However, as Jordan Hicks has reportedly been given permission to seek a trade, if he ends up leaving, the Cardinals have almost no playing experience in the room. They will start a rookie (Zaven Collins) and a second-year player in Isaiah Simmons, who played 376 defensive snaps last season. On the bench would be about 700 total snaps of experience on defense.
