3 Colts to watch vs. Jaguars in Week 17

The Indianapolis Colts (10-5) wrap their regular season with a home matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-14) on Sunday.

As the Colts prepare for their regular-season finale, they will need some help getting into the playoffs from some other teams also in the race. They need either the Dolphins, Titans, Browns or Ravens to lose mixed with a Colts win.

Here’s a look at three Colts to watch in the finale:

Veldheer might not even play. But in the event that he does, it will be at the left tackle position to replace Anthony Castonzo, who is out for the remainder of the season after undergoing ankle surgery. Veldheer would likely get the start at left tackle if the Colts decide against using Quenton Nelson at that position. Veldheer is a veteran who has been around the league so he may have a chance to prove his worth in the playoffs if the Colts get there.

The rookie has a chance to hit 1,000 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on the season. That’s kind of incredible considering the view of him coming out of the bye week. Taylor needs 84 rushing yards and a touchdown to achieve that big accomplishment and if he does that, he will have a lot of momentum going into Year 2.

The Colts will be without safety Khari Willis on Sunday as the Michigan State product works through the league’s concussion protocol. The Colts could very well replace Willis with veteran Tavon Wilson but there is also the chance they go with Odum, who has surprisingly seen little work on defense. It will be interesting to see who the Colts go with, but Odum might be the better option out of the two.
