3 Bemidji Nordic skiers garner top-100 finishes at state meet

Feb. 14—BIWABIK — Three Bemidji High School Nordic skiers plied their trade at the MSHSL state meet on Wednesday in Biwabik, wrapping up their season by competing against the best high school pursuit skiers from across Minnesota.

The Lumberjacks competed in the pursuit on Wednesday, with the team sprint competition to follow on Thursday. BHS had two competitors in Wednesday's girls race and one in the boys' competition.

Mia Hoffmann cracked the top 50 in the girls race, placing 47th with a combined time of 30:55.2. She skied a time of 16:43.6 in the classic race and 14:12 in the freestyle.

Isabel Renn took 83rd in the girls race with a composite time of 33:08.6. She finished the classic portion in 17:53.4 and the freestyle in 15:15.4.

On the boys side, Bjorn Krona placed 96th with a total time of 30:06.4. He skied to a 16:31.6 finish in the classic race and a 13:35.1 time in the freestyle.

Kolton Meyer and Levi Renn will compete for the Jacks in the boys sprint relay on Thursday in Biwabik.
