29 Movies That Are So Awful, People Actually Had To Stop Watching Them

A while back, we wrote a post where Reddit users shared movies that were so awful, they stopped watching halfway through.

NBC

In the comments, many readers from the BuzzFeed Community shared even more terrible movies they couldn't finish — and TBH, it gets controversial. Here are the surprising results:

<div><p>"<i>The Nice Guys</i> with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. I’ve seen a lot of sh*tty movies in my life all the way to the end, but that is the only one I just turned off and walked away. Don’t remember any of the plot, but I know it was terrible."</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/saraw60" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:saraw60;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">saraw60</a></p></div><span> Warner Bros / Courtesy Everett Collection</span>

Nope."</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/shutupjuststfu" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:shutupjuststfu;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">shutupjuststfu</a></p></div><span> Paramount / Courtesy Everett Collection</span>

7.Men in Black: International (2019)

<div><p>"I loved the original and thought it’d be fun, but no, it was terrible. Maybe it was seeing Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) playing lesser versions of themselves. 13.The Room (2003)

<div><p>"I was expecting to enjoy <i>The Room</i>, assuming it was a cult movie because it was bad in a kitschy way and because my husband had hyped it up for years. I was actually PISSED after watching it. The horrible-and-not-in-an-endearing-way writing, the misogyny, etc. I’ve never felt that way after watching any other movie, and I still wish I could get that time back."</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/kelseym9" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:kelseym9;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">kelseym9</a></p></div><span> Chloe Productions / TPW Films</span>

22.The Beach Bum (2019)

<div><p>"Amazing cast, but it didn't go anywhere, and I watched nearly an hour before I couldn't take it anymore. It made no sense and was so unrealistic. I can suspend disbelief for a lot of things, but this was awful. What a waste!"</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/hello__no" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:hello__no;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">hello__no</a></p></div><span> Neon</span>

25.Due Date (2010)

<div><p>"I thought it’d be funny because I really liked Zach Galifianakis in <i>The Hangover.</i> His character was obnoxious, but funny yet tolerable. But his character in <i>Due Date</i> was loathsome to the extreme. I hate it when a comic actor finds a niche and movie studios run that niche to the ground (looking at you Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson). Admittedly, the only reason was because of Robert Downey Jr., but not even he could have saved the movie for me."</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/emma1515" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:emma1515;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">emma1515</a></p></div><span> Warner Bros. / Courtesy Everett Collection</span>

26.The Counselor (2013)

<div><p><i>"The Counselor</i> with Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem is the first — and ONLY — movie I've walked out on without learning or caring about how it ended. I love Javier Bardem in just about any movie, but that movie was sheer torture to sit through."</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/dj80london" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:dj80london;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">dj80london</a></p></div><span> 20th Century Fox / Courtesy Everett Collection</span>

27.To All the Boys: Always and Forever (2021)

<div><p>"<i>To All the Boys 3</i>. I wasn't big on the first two, TBH, but they're alright for light entertainment. The third one was just so boring, and I really didn't care about their 'conflict.' I think I turned it off around the time they visited New York, but I can't remember exactly because I'd zoned out a while before I stopped it."</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/b47c87955c" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:b47c87955c;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">b47c87955c</a></p></div><span> Katie Yu / Netflix / Courtesy Everett Collection</span>

28.Fun With Dick and Jane (2005)

<div><p>"It was the only movie I’ve ever walked out on. I honestly don’t remember a whole lot of it. I just remember being so bored and so uninterested in finishing it."</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/brittanyg4baf9d707" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:brittanyg4baf9d707;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">brittanyg4baf9d707</a></p></div><span> Columbia Pictures / Courtesy Everett Collection</span>

29.And finally: Scary Movie (2000)

<div><p>"My sister and her ex-husband dragged me to see it, and I left the theater about 15 minutes after it started. It was just awful. I knew I would end up losing IQ points if I watched it."</p><p>—<a href="https://www.buzzfeed.com/kristalv" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:kristalv;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas" class="link ">kristalv</a></p></div><span> Dimension Films</span>
