2024 3-Star Linebacker D’Angelo Barber is enjoying his visit at Texas A&M

Ever since Texas A&M defensive coordinator D.J Durkin took on his dual role as a linebacker coach to shore up the issues the unit dealt with last season, we’ve witnessed a complete shift in the Aggies recruiting focus for the 2024 cycle, as four-star linebackers Jordan Lockhart and Tyanthony Smith will visit College Station on consecutive weekends in early June, while three-star linebacker D’Angelo Barber is currently visiting the Aggies this weekend.

Out of Pinson, Alabama, Barber is entering his senior season at Clay-Chalkville High School, where during his 2022 junior season, Barber recorded 115 tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks, and four forced fumbles, as the offers began to increase after his impressive campaign. As a significant target to Auburn, Arkansas, and Alabama, he’s currently ranked as the 41st linebacker prospect in the 2024 cycle and ranked the 25th player in Alabama, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

As of Friday, news regarding Barber’s College Station visit has been quiet for the most part until a photo of Barber wearing a Texas A&M jersey (a regular occurrence for visiting prospects) hit social media (Twitter); it looks like the visit is off to a rousing start.

As frequent as these recruiting visits are during the summer months, this is a brief reminder that every visit has meaning because while every other contending program prepares to make its respective pitch regarding facilities, NIL deals, and future program success, Texas A&M will consistently outperform on every listed issue, while on-field success is coming sooner than later.
