Twenty-seven years after the inaugural event, the World Beer Cup is still going strong, introducing different styles of beer to the masses while handing out the proverbial hardware to breweries across the globe for their best-of-the-best efforts.

Overall, there are 111 beer categories in the competition—hard to believe, but true—which highlights and leaves little doubt as to why it’s considered the “Olympics of beer.”

And if the final tally is any indication, the craft brewers in the United States should toast one for such a collectively incredible job.
