2023 NFL combine: Bills met with top prospect Zay Flowers
One of the highly-touted and outright fan favorites for the Buffalo Bills ahead of the 2023 NFL draft has met with the team.
Boston College receiver Zay Flowers told reporters at his press conference from the combine, including the Buffalo News, that he has spoken with the club.
Along with revealing that, Flowers was on of the receiver prospects to sing the praises of the Bills offense–Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, specifically.
A senior last year, Flowers had his best college season in 2022. He recorded 78 catches for 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns. All were far and away career-bests for Flowers.
After that strong year, Flowers had turned into a top-overall receiver prospect ahead of this year’s draft.
Nearly every outlet, including Pro Football Focus, has him projected as a first-round pick. Overall, PFF has Flowers ast No. 19 on their big board.
As a top wideout prospect, Flowers does a lot well. At 5-foot-10, he’s a quick weapon that the Bills offense could use.
However, PFF says his route running needs to improve in the pros.
With that in mind, Buffalo might be a great place for Flowers to end up. Diggs is one of the NFL’s best route runners and could help Flowers improve in that area.
Additionally, Flowers’ ability to be a vertical threat alongside Diggs and Gabe Davis could make the Bills offense an even scarier one to deal with.
