2023 Heisman Trophy predictions

USC Trojan quarterback Caleb Williams won the 2022 Heisman Trophy. He dazzled in the 2023 season opener against San Jose State as he tries to repeat. There are plenty of other intriguing options as Heisman contenders this year, including some fellow Pac-12 players. Bo Nix and Micahel Penix stand out, as well as others around the country.

The Pac-12 College Wire team put together a series of predictions, and one set of predictions revolved around the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner.

Zachary Neel and Don Smalley of Ducks Wire, Matt Zemek and Matt Wadleigh of Trojans Wire, and Jack Carlough of Buffaloes Wire all gave their predictions below:

MATT ZEMEK: QB JORDAN TRAVIS, FLORIDA STATE

The Seminoles are looking like a potential ACC winner, and if Jordan Travis is as good as advertised, he should find his way to New York City.

ZACHARY NEEL: RB BLAKE CORUM, MICHIGAN

Blake Corum returned to Michigan for another season, and he should be a Heisman Trophy candidate all year in the dynamic Wolverine offense.

Marvi Harrison Jr. is a star in the making and a top-five NFL draft pick next season without a doubt. He should finish the year as the best wide receiver, and a bid to New York is not out of the question. Smalley also has Bo Nix earning an invite to the Heisman party.

JACK CARLOUGH: QB CALEB WILLIAMS, USC

Repeating as a Heisman winner is extremely difficult, but Caleb Williams is certainly a different animal. Williams will try to become just the second man ever to win back-to-back Heismans, joining Ohio State’s Archie Griffin (1974 and 1975).

Caleb Williams is almost certainly going to be the top draft pick next year, and the Arizona Cardinals are already embracing the tank in what seems to be an effort to land him. That’s how good he is.
