This 2023 blue-chip DL narrows list to 5 including Florida

Florida football’s 2022 campaign is still rolling along as the Gators grind out the remainder of their grueling schedule, but the upcoming opponents have not been the only focus for Billy Napier and his staff. Unlike his predecessor, the new skipper has taken an all-out approach to recruiting by putting as much effort in during the season as the off-season.

The new regime’s efforts have not gone unnoticed as evidenced by the latest blue-chip recruit to include the Orange and Blue among their top schools. Four-star defensive lineman Jordan Hall out of Jacksonville (Florida) Westside recently announced his top five schools and offered the following to Gators Sports.

“Florida probably has been the team in my recruitment that I’ve loved the most,” Hall said. “The love the new staff has shown since they’ve been there has been absolutely crazy, and I can’t really find anything bad to say about them.  I mean yeah, the season isn’t going so good, but it’s Napier’s first year so it isn’t ever gonna be good or great. But I love it there. It feels like home and it’s close to my family. Not that it’s a factor in my recruitment, it’s just easy access for them, but I really love UF.”

The 6-foot-4.5-inch, 300-pound rising senior also has the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs making his latest cut.

Hall is ranked No. 119 overall and No. 18 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 103 and 10, respectively. The Bulldogs hold four of 247Sports’ crystal ball predictions while the Florida State Seminoles still claim the fifth. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Georgia an 87.5% chance of landing the highly-sought recruit, with ‘Bama in second at 3.8% and Florida third at 2.9%.
